S355J2+N steel is a non-alloy structural steel grade known for its impressive weldability and toughness. It mainly comprises iron with about 0.22% carbon, along with manganese (up to 1.6%), silicon, phosphorus, and sulfur in carefully controlled amounts. The “J2” designation guarantees a minimum impact energy of 27 Joules at -20°C, while the “N” indicates that it has undergone normalizing heat treatment to boost its strength and toughness.
